Course Description: This is a comprehensive sixteen-hour search warrant course. The course is designed to enable anyone in law enforcement to leave this class with the knowledge and confidence it takes to write a successful search warrant. What you will learn:
- What is a search warrant?
- Who can get one?
- What can you seize?
- How do you seal a search warrant?
- When it is appropriate to seal a warrant or parts thereof?
- Essential basics of what is needed for a solid warrant that will withstand Judicial-review
Instructor: George Driscoll is a 34-year law enforcement veteran with 29 years of narcotics enforcement experience, and has been teaching a variety of subjects to law enforcement officers throughout California and in several foreign countries since 1986. Mr. Driscoll is a Captain (retired) from the Navy Reserve and holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. Mr. Driscoll is a highly sought after instructor who brings to the subject matter a refreshing look from an investigator’s view. Mr. Driscoll has taught at previous CNOA Annual Training Institutes and the CNOA Specialized Unit Supervisors Course. In 2013 Mr. Driscoll received the POST ICI Award for Excellence in Instruction. He is also the recipient of CNOA’s highest and most prestigious award, the Alfred E. Stewart Memorial Narcotic Officer of the Year.
