Course Description / Objectives: This course is designed to educate attendees on all aspects of the diverse use of License Plate Reader (LPR) technology.  This class covers LPR technology and databases available to law enforcement highlighting the best practices of its deployment. This course shows all features of LPR technology utilizing real world scenarios.  Students will be shown an alternative to deploying the traditional law enforcement LPR model highlighting the integration of Private LPR data. LPR technology is utilized by over 75% of all law enforcement agencies with little to no formal training; this course will identify best practices in using the data and covering legal aspects.  While this course is designed to cover the use of all LPR systems it will focus on utilizing commercial LPR data which consists of 3 billion records. Attendees will see the effect of using robust analytical tools within LPR databases maximizing your investigative efforts in almost every facet of the job.  The diversity of the databases will be demonstrated in both areas of field enforcement and investigations.  At the conclusion of the class each attendee will retain access to the private LPR database with logon credentials for a period of 30 days.
